We spend a lot of time thinking about our relationships with our friends, our co-workers, our kids, our partners.
But we don’t often take time to nurture our most important relationship - the one we have with ourselves.
Take time today to consider:
How do you treat you? Are you kind? Judgmental? Patient? Caring? Short-tempered? Frustrated?
Do you speak to yourself like a friend? Or is your self talk filled with accusations, constantly aware of your short-comings.
Do you offer yourself what you need? A snack, a break, some quality time?
How could you better foster your relationship with you?

Almond Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars
Yield: 12 bars
Ingredients:
1/2 cup applesauce
2 cups almond butter
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 tablespoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup flour ( I used half Bob's Gluten Free Flour and half Oat Flour)
1 1/3 cup coconut sugar or monkfruit sugar
1/2 cup chocolate chips (reserve some for sprinkling on top)
3 tbsp non-dairy milk
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 F.
Grease an 8-inch pan, or line with parchment paper.
Combine almond butter, applesauce, and vanilla extract. Make sure your almond butter is stir-able. If it isn't, heat it gently in the microwave in increments of 10-15 seconds. 
In a separate bowl, stir baking soda, salt, flour, and coconut sugar.
Pour the dry ingredients int the wet and keep stirring. The mixture will seem very dry at first. Slowly add milk and continue to stir. If you add too much milk it will get too gooey like cookie dough
Fold in chocolate chips and smooth down the batter evenly. Press remaining chocolate chips on top.
Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the bars are golden on top. The top should look set but they may still be a little undercooked underneath.
Leave them to cool for at least 20-30 minutes. Once cool, I let them sit for an additional hour or two in the freezer to firm up but this step isn't necessary.
They're delicious and still warm with ice cream on top. Enjoy!
